'Hanto Karakida' (辛木田 絆斗, Karakida Hanto) is a freelance writer and a main character in Kamen Rider Gavv.
Etymology[edit source]
In “Hanto” (絆斗, Hanto) the first kanji means “bond” and the second kanji is a generic masculine name ender that means “Big Dipper”. The name could be a pun on the English words “haunt” or “hunt”.
The name “Karakida” is usually written differently (唐木田, Karakida) from Hanto’s surname (辛木田, Karakida). The kanji in Hanto’s surname mean “spicy”, “tree”, and “rice paddy” respectively.
